NAPTHA - 2018 - Short film

Faraz’s quiet life working at an isolated petrol station is turned upside down when his ageing father Malik begins to speak in a long-forgotten language and insists on returning back home.

Premiered at the London Film Festival and selected to screen in Cannes Semaine de la Critique 2019. Also selected to screen at Palm Springs and DC Shorts.

"Dreams and home movies are the token of long-repressed estrangement, a migrant’s longing for home beyond the sea and beyond the stars. A Spielberg-esque film on immigration and heritage.
